FROM CALL TO PENTECOST: POINTS ALONG THE JOURNEY
This is a first go using Matthew, and then I picked up the other gospels as needed. Even when I listed Matthew only, I assume we would look at the parallel passages for nuance. Please feel free to suggest additions or deletions. I came up with 15 points. My gut is that we should probably work to cut it down to about ten.
The Call - Matthew 4:8-22, Mark 1:16-20
Stilling the storm - Matthew 8:23-27
Naming & Training of the Twelve - Matthew 10, Mark 3:13-19
Parable of Sower - Matthew 13:1-8, 18-23
LIttle things - Yeast, Salt, Light - Matthew 13:33, Luke 11:33, Luke 14:34-35, John 1:1-9, John 8:12
Feeding the 5,000 - Matthew 14:13-21
Sending of the 70 - Luke 10:1-12, 17-20
Peter's Declaration - Matthew 16:13-20
The cross - Matthew 16:24-28
Servanthood - Matthew 18:1-5, 20:26-28, Mark 9:33-37, Luke 22:24-30, John 13:1-11
Betrayal/Denial - Matthew 26:14-16,31-35, 47-56, 69-75
Reengagement - Matthew 28:1-10, Mark 16:9-13, Luke 24:13-35
Commissioning - Matthew 28:16-20
Waiting - Luke 24:40, John 14:15-31, Acts 1:4-5
Pentecost - Acts 2:1-13
Expanding the circle - Acts 2:37-47

I would probably delete the following: stilling the storm, parable of the sower, peter's declaration, reengagement, expanding the circle.
Wow!!!! Thanks Fritz for making this happen and for showing us how to get into the 21st century. I am more excited about the process and I will comment on the content later. Great job.
Now I have a name and can post!!!
Thanks Fritz for doing this. That is quite a list! You've been busy since we met....looking forward to further discussion.
I like the option of getting emails whenever a comment is posted.
I thank God or you,
Tried sending a comment earlier but obviously didn't do something right, so I'll try again.
I'm just barely started working through the etxts, but I'm wondering about working with call in session one, using Mt 4:18-20, Luk 8:1-3 (names the women), and Mt 10:1-4. Session 2 might then work on training the disciples: Mt 10:5-42, plus yeast/salt/light teachings, and maybe even Luke 10 with the sending of the 72. Thoughts?
Wouldn't the first scripture that refers to the call of discipleship be Matthew 28:19-20a: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you."?
All the rest could follow.
Kathy
In my eyes, the Great Commission is a "sending", not a "calling". I would still be inclined to walk with the disciples from the moment of their first experience with Jesus to the point where he entrusted his ministry to them -- a journey from disciple to apostle.

first it doesn't send my wonderful comment, and then it sends it twice -- how interesting
Has anyone of you read A Model for Making Disciples by D.Michael Henderson? It is based on the Wesleyan Revolution. I need to read this over the coming week. If I see anything of interest, I will pass it on.
What about The Disciple Making Pastor by Bill Hull? I will also be reading this book next week.
I am thinking that there might be something already out there that we can use or modify.
Have a blessed week. I will be out o town until the 6th.
